By registering for the Santee Cooper My Energy Link (MEL) self service portal, you can access different services and programs that are offered by us without having to register for each service separately. If a service you wish to subscribe to has additional terms and conditions, you will be asked to accept these separately. By accepting the Terms & Conditions, you understand and/or agree that: 1. You will keep your email address and password safe, and won't share them with anyone. 2. You will not pass yourself off as someone else or create multiple, false accounts. 3. Privacy: Your personal data and personal identifiable information is classified as confidential and shall not be shared outside of Santee Cooper with anyone, unless required by law. 4. Paperless Billing: You will be automatically enrolled in Paperless Billing. If you wish to unenroll in Paperless Billing at any time, you will have the option to change your settings within the self service portal. 5. Notifications: Per FCC guidance, you will be enrolled into text and email notifications for ‘Outages’ and “Billing’ upon enrollment. Outage notifications will provide updates regarding service outages or service restoration related to any account linked to your self service portal. Billing notifications will provide monthly reminders to view your bill and make a timely payment to avoid disruption in service. Standard charges shall apply on text message notifications. If you wish to unenroll from any notifications, you can do so at any time by updating your Notification Preferences within the self-service portal. 6. Auto Pay: Once you are a registered MEL user, you will have the ability to enroll in Santee Cooper’s Auto Pay program. If you choose to enroll in Auto Pay you must certify that you are the owner of the account entered into the system and are authorized to allow Santee Cooper to automatically charge the credit card, debit card or bank account for the total amount due each month. 7. Payments: Residential customers will be charged a $2.50 convenience fee for every $300 increment paid with a debit or credit card. Commercial customers will be charged a $12.95 convenience fee for every $800 increment paid with a debit or credit card. Bank Account transactions are free for both residential and commercial customers. 8. Guest Users: The Terms & Conditions outlined here, must also be reviewed and accepted by any guest users invited to a customer’s self-service portal. Once a guest user’s access has been granted, they must not share any customer or account information with anyone. The customer has the ability to remove a guest’s access at anytime.
